I’ve been a journalist for 30 years, I’ve lived all over the world and I’ve had plenty of exciting adventures. That might make me seem brave. The truth is, however, there have been many times when I was faced with a decision or wanted to make a move and was really unsure of myself, such as when I moved to South Africa alone in 1996. I didn’t feel brave. I felt afraid.
Reflecting on these experiences got me thinking about the way others persist through fear, so I decided to start a podcast about it. In true meta fashion, I’m afraid to start a podcast.
Guess what? I’m doing it anyway.
Every day across the world, people take actions that scare them. It might be a new job, a move across town, going to dinner alone, pursuing a passion, starting a relationship, opening test results or simply walking outside.
Each episode will feature a story of someone persisting through fear.
